Event Zero’s Perspective framework is an information delivery platform used to support real-time operational visibility and decision making. Event data is delivered through a browser-based portal environment supporting the exploration and analysis of event data streams, and enabling rapid analysis.

Event Zero’s Perspective framework delivers key capabilities for information delivery in the enterprise:

• Rapid creation and configuration of dashboards
• Unit and aggregate data views (including detailed information)
• Dashboard and report templates
• Supports multiple data sources
• Links to incident management and workflow capabilities.

Perspective provides access to both real-time and historical data stores, across the variety of event  sources in the event processing network, and both aggregate and granular information views, with support to instantiate remedial actions on the basis of empirical data.

Perspective's incident management and workflow engine allows events requiring human analysis and response to be efficiently processed. Perspective also supports user profiles, where users view only the information (for example, event streams, dashboards, or reports) that are of specific relevance to their organizational responsibilities.

In addition to the native data analysis and visualization framework in Perspective, Event Zero’s EPN also supports integration with common third-party data analysis, visualization, and portal delivery tools.

Dashboards

Perspective’s Dashboard capability is a key user interface for exposing event data to business users. Event data and metadata is used to populate displayed widgets. In dashboard design, a user can apply business logic to incoming event streams to display meaningful information. For example, a dashboard widget can display a cumulative total of events per day, and display it in a bar graph. 

The Dashboard tool is shipped with a  series of widgets that can  be configured with various layouts and properties onto a dashboard to aggregate event data into a unified view.

Event Zero EPN solutions offer customizable predefined dashboards, as well as the ability to implement additional dashboards as required.
Additionally, dashboards can optionally be exposed outside the Perspective framework for ease of access.

Viewing Real-Time Events

The Channel Viewer provides the user with a graphical view of stored real-time events on the selected channel or subchannel. Using the Viewer, a user can browse and manually inspect event streams from the EPN, drilling down from high-level aggregations to individual data elements and properties.

Viewing Historical Events

The Summary viewer offers visual time slots that the user can use to drill down to the desired historical event. Individual events can be viewed by an Event Viewer that displays the event's description, the time and date the event was received, as well as the event's schema fields and active tags (attached metadata).

Reports

Using the graphical report writer, a user can create rich reports based on either event stream data, or dashboard composites. Reports can be:
• Run on a schedule and distributed.
• Invoked on demand by a user. Reports can be made available online as HTML or PDF documents.
• Downloaded as data snapshots for offline data analysis (CSV format).
• Shipped to external applications via Application Services.
