Together with leading industry and research organisations, Event Zero has today joined the Event Processing Technical Society (EPTS) as a Foundation Member.

The mission of the EPTS is to increase awareness of event processing, to establish a common set of terminology and to guide event processing standards efforts in support of business and academia.

The work program of the EPTS will benefit Event Zero through establishment of a common set of use cases for event processing technologies, providing a common set of terms and definitions to describe componentry of event processing networks, building consensus on best practices for event processing deployments, forging relationships between academic and industrial research, and collaboratively developing standards for interoperability.

Event Zero will be attending the next EPTS meeting in September 2008, to be co-located with the Gartner Event Processing Symposium of which Event Zero is a Premier Sponsor.
